Last Autumn, I took a short side trip from Prague to explore the less frequented, rural region of southeastern Czech Republic. • Jim Nilsen - Kim & David,

I am planning on photographing southern Moravia at the end of April 2014. I want to seek out the rolling green hills. Any suggestions on where to visit and where to base out of would be appreciated.

    Best regards,

    Jim Nilsen

  • admin - Hi Jim, Photographing the rolling green hills in the spring time will be fabulous!! Lucky you! I stayed in the village of Mikulov in South Moravia, Czech when I was there. But the rolling green hills were a good hour away. My guide really didn’t have a specific idea where to go as historic sites were usually on his itinerary. So the best thing I would suggest is to do a google search to match up what you’re wanting to capture. I did list the region belonging to the photos above. The little village of Mikulov was a nice base as you can easily walk to most anywhere and explore a castle and Jewish cemetery. I’d love to see some of your spring shots when you return! Please consider posting some here as a guest blogger.

  • admin - Thanks so much! 🙂

Fall is here…my favorite time for hiking! Cooler days, sunshine, autumn colors… And the WAVE in northern Arizona, USA, remains one of my top destinations for hiking. Permits are required (see earlier blog entry for specifics) but so worthwhile to go through the effort (even if you do have to wait a couple years!)
